Army vs Navy
When I first set out to photograph the Army-Navy game in 2008, I expected little more than a football rivalry. Instead, I discovered warriors in training. The Army cadets and Navy midshipmen march into the stadium in waves and bellow in baritone unison. They are gifted, accomplished, manicured and alert. They are also quick to flex their muscles and thump their chests. These are the young men and women who believe in duty, honor and country. And they spend their college years preparing to defend the Republic. This century-long tradition is like an arm wrestling match between brothers - fueled by pride, ego and faith. The following images are from the 2008 and 2009 Army-Navy football games at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
